Hi! I’m Li-Yuan Tsao (曹立元), a first-year Ph.D. student at University of Texas at Austin, advised by Prof. Philipp Krähenbühl.

I received my Master’s degree in Computer Science and Bachelor’s degree in EECS at National Tsing Hua University (NTHU), advised by Prof. Chun-Yi Lee. I’ve also been fortunate to work with Prof. Ming-Hsuan Yang at University of California, Merced, as well as Dr. Kelvin C.K. Chan and Dr. Deqing Sun at Google DeepMind, during my time as a visiting student at UC Merced.

My research interest are computer vision and vision-language models. You can also check out my CV for more details about me.

Aug, 2025 Received the Best Master Thesis Award from the Chinese Society of Image Processing and Pattern Recognition (IPPR).
Mar, 2025 I will be joining the University of Texas at Austin as a PhD student in August 2025!
Jan, 2025 Joined the University of Oslo as a graduate exchange student for the Spring 2025 semester.
